Now that Eclipse has hit theaters and broken box office records, Twilight fans are already anxiously awaiting the next onscreen chapter in Bella and Edward’s love story: Breaking Dawn. We talked exclusively to Melissa Rosenberg, the screenwriter behind all of the Twilight films, to find out what we can expect from the final two installments. She weighed in on whether or not Bella’s childbirth scene will make it to the screen, shared her most surprising fan moment, and dished on her creative relationship with Stephenie Meyer.

PopSugar: How did you feel about the decision to split Breaking Dawn into two movies?
Melissa Rosenberg: Relief, actually, because it was going to be quite a challenge to condense such a large book into one movie. That’s always the challenge with all of these and, more so, Breaking Dawn. Having a little more room to breathe is nice . . . on the other hand, there’s also the challenge of making sure there’s enough to fill two movies.

PS: We’ve heard there are some scenes you want to avoid showing on screen in Breaking Dawn. For example, Bella giving birth. Can you tell us why?
MR: That was a misquote. The childbirth — all the scenes, I feel — should be on screen. I think perhaps what I was referring to was, would we actually see Edward’s teeth through the placenta? I don’t think so. I don’t think we need to see that, and if someone needs to see that, I think they should take a look at that. [Laughs.] I believe it will be implied, but I don’t think we’ll see teeth in the placenta.

PS: What responsibility do you feel toward the fans? Are they on your mind during the writing process?
MR: The responsibility I feel to the fans? Well, there’s one: making them happy, of course. I want people to enjoy the movie and not feel that I killed their favorite novel! But what I’ve realized is, you can’t satisfy all the people. But the real weight that I feel is a very heavy responsibility, knowing that a lot of women and young girls are seeing this, and watching to make sure that what’s portrayed in the film is that Bella’s a strong female role model. That the messages they’re getting are positive ones.

PS: What’s the craziest or most surprising fan reaction you’ve experienced?
MR: You can’t call it crazy, but crazy wonderful. I just came back from Paris. I was there [for a press junket] with some of the actors: Daniel Cudmore, Edi Gathegi, Michael Welch, and Alex Meraz. At the end, there was this closing ceremony and we were told there was a surprise for us, and they led us out on the stage . . . and the entire audience was sort of standing in this darkened theater, almost as if in prayer. It was very odd. And then after a moment, Lady Gaga’s ”Bad Romance” starts up, and they break into a dance they’ve been choreographing for three days. This wonderful, very unified dance, and it was amazing. We were stunned. A thousand pairs of hands all raised to the beat at the same time — it’s a powerful experience . . . I wondered, could that have happened anywhere else but in France? Would American audiences have been too cool?

PS: How involved is Stephenie Meyer in the writing process and what is your relationship with her like?
MR: Stephenie is very involved. My relationship with her has only gotten better with every movie. When I met her and began to engage, I had no reason to be protective. I found her to be extremely collaborative and a tremendous resource. So I began to engage her more and that happened more on New Moon and even more in Eclipse . . . She weighs in on every draft of the outline, every draft of the script. She’s on set. She’s very involved.

PS: What is one of your favorite scenes from the books or films? Is there one you’ve especially enjoyed writing or look forward to writing?
MR: There are a number. I think seeing Bella as a vampire and her adjusting to her powers and embracing them, those are all really fun scenes to write. Particularly when you picture Kristen Stewart playing her, and the way she’s embodied Bella as a sort of awkward, fidgety persona. When she turns into a vampire, all of that goes away.

Vad tyckte du om faktumet att Breaking Dawn delades upp i två filmer?
Lättnad faktiskt. Det skulle ha varit ganska utmanande att få en så stor bok in i en film. Det är faktiskt det problemet med alla böcker i denna serie, och just speciellt med Breaking Dawn.
Att ha lite mera utrymme att andas är skönt… men sen igen – det är en rätt stor utmaning att kunna fylla ut båda filmerna väl.

Vi har hört att det finns vissa scener som du inte vill visa på vita duken, bland annat när Bella föder. Kan du berätta åt oss varför?
Det var ett tolkningsfel. Födseln – alla dessa scener känner jag att borde vara med i filmen. Jag tror mera att vad jag försökte få fram var om vi faktiskt kommer att få Edwards tänder bitande igenom moderkakan? Skulle inte tro det. Jag tror inte att vi behöver se det, och om någon behöver se det tycker jag att den personen kan ta och kolla på det. [skrattar]. Jag tror att det kommer finnas med på ett sätt men jag tror inte att vi kommer att se tänder i moderkakan.

Hurdan plikt känner du mot fansen? Tänker du på dem när du skriver manuset?
Plikten jag känner mot fansen? Det finns en: att göra dem glada. Jag vill att människor skall njuta av filmen och inte att de känner att jag förstört deras favoritbok! Men vad jag har insett är att du inte kan tillfredsställa alla. Men jag känner av detta väldigt mycket, att veta att så många kvinnor och unga tjejer ser filmen och vill se som en stark ledande kvinna. Så budskapen som följer med är positivt.

Vad är det galnaste eller det mest överraskande som hänt mellan dig och ett fan?
Man kan inte kalla det galet direkt, men galet på ett underbart sätt! Jag kom hem från Paris. Jag var där för att göra en ‘press junket’ med några utav skådespelarna (Daniel Cudmore, Edi Gathegi, Michael Welch, & Alex Meraz). I slutet var det en ceremoni och de berättade åt oss att det fanns en överraskning till oss innan vi togs tillbaka ut på scenen… och hela publiken stod upp i den svagt belysta teatern, nästan som om de stod och bad. Det var väldigt konstigt. Och sedan efter en stund började Lady Gaga’s ”Bad Romance” spela och alla börjar dansa till en koreografi som de övat på i tre dagar. Denna underbara och väldigt förenande dans, det var fantastiskt. Vi var förbluffade. Tusentals händer uppe i luften samtidigt i takt med musiken – det var en väldigt mäktig upplevelse…  Jag undrar om det där skulle ha kunnat hända någon annanstans än i Frankrike? Skulle publiken här i Amerika ha varit för häftiga?

Hur involverad är Stephenie Meyer i skrivningsprocessen och vad är ditt förhållande till henne?
Stephenie är väldigt involverad. Mitt förhållande med henne har bara förbättras efter varje film. När jag träffade henne och börjades blandas in i det hela hade jag ingen orsak att vara försiktig. Jag fann henne att vara en väldigt samarbetsvillig och fantastik källa. Så jag började att blanda in henne mera, speciellt i New Moon och ännu mer i Eclipse…  Hon är och ‘granskar’ allt från skrivandet till stället var vi filmar in. Hon är väldigt involverad.

Vad är din favoritscen från boken eller från filmen? Fanns det någon scen du njöt att få skriva eller ser framemot att få skriva?
Det finns några stycken. Jag tror att få se Bella som vampyr och att vänja sig vid hennes krafter kommer att vara väldigt kul att skriva.  Speciellt när du tänker dig att Kristen Stewart spelar henne och sättet hon har gjort Bella till en väldigt klimpig och blygsam person. När hon blir en vampyr försvinner allt det där.

She talks about her kiss with Kristen Stewart in The Runaways: ” It’s out of the way, and it was with my friend and a girl – no pressure,” Fanning tells me, smiling and pinkening slightly. “It was not something Cherie [Currie] and Joan [Jett] ever really spoke about, and that’s how it was filmed – as not that big of a deal.”

“When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old,” Fanning says. ” I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, ‘You know, I’m not that young little girl anymore, but I’m still not all grown up, either.”

The easiest questions oftentimes get the best responses, and that’s what happened when MTV News’ Josh Horowitz asked Kellan Lutz, Ashley Greene and Jackson Rathbone what their favorite “Twilight” paraphernalia is.

“I have Jackson’s pillow,” Ashley said, before quickly adding, “Just kidding!” but things quickly spiraled downward after Kellan sadly admitted that Emmett doesn’t have an action figure.

“He should, he’s the biggest coolest character!” Ashley said to Kellan to cheer him up, but then she quickly said, “Aww, damn” as Jackson’s face fell. “Yeah, gave him coolest, that’s fine,” Jackson said with faux sadness. “Umm, what do you want me to call… You’re the sexiest,” Ashley remedied.

Instead of responding to the developing light-hearted feud developing, Kellan chose to actually answer the question Josh posed for them… sort of.

“Fans create quite unique merchandise,” Kellan said. “We do these fun conventions, and we get to meet these fans, and they always have like cool new stuff to sign or to show you, but then they also make stuff. I’ve been very blessed to have very sweet fans make dolls or draw and paint, and I draw a lot, so I know how much time goes into those, and they do an amazing job. It’s really cool, and it’s really humbling that someone would take that much time out to do that.”

He then did answer the original question, adding, “As far as merchandise, I guess… onesies. I saw a onesie thing, and then there are some female products with Rob’s face on it.”

“Hah!” Jackson exclaimed loudly. “Wow.”

“Awkward,” was Ashley’s only response.

“I was like, yes! That’s a winner,” Kellan finished.

Our only question is: how do you think the stars of “Twilight” went so long before hearing about the infamous Edward Cullen underwear? What do you think is the weirdest fan-created “Twilight” merch out there?
